Farida Khan Fall 2012

Farida Khan Fall 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week. Born in Pakistan and currently residing in Qatar, Farida is inspired by unconventional beauty. In her collection, Farida created a dark, marine look by richly employing materials such as black laminated cotton dress and black/white geometric vinyl top. Her avant-garde geometric vinyl designs declared beauty never has to be defined. See images from the collection in the slideshow below.

Jade Juanyu Liu Fall 2012

Jade Juanyu Liu Fall 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week. A native of Shanghai, Jade took her inspiration from her collection by French collage artist Damien Blottiere, who had an innovative layering technique that creates shadows and empty space. I especially liked her quartz bonded microfiber top and skirt, which made fashion effortlessly easy and chic.

Deanna Pei-Ju Lo Fall 2012

Deanna Pei-Ju Lo Fall 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week. From Taipei, Taiwan, Deanna wanted to create “a modern Teddy Boy look” in her collection. She took inspiration from a borrowed-from-the-boys feel, but adding the femininity by using soft, luxurious metallic fabric. Black and navy color dominated Deanna’s collection creating a midnight sensation.

Donghyuk Dan Kim Fall 2012

Donghyuk Dan Kim Fall 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week. Originally from South Korea, Donghyun has a background in chemical engineering and pattern design. In his men’s collection, Donghyun took his audience off-guard by his bold vintage military uniforms inspired by the American West. His designs including tobacco oilcloth cotton shirt and olive wool gabardine/brown leather jacket made a dashing counterstatement to the belief that guys have to be metro to be fashionable.

Kate YK Lee Fall 2012

Kate YK Lee Fall 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week. Coming from Seoul, South Korea, Kate took her inspiration from the sculptural elements of architecture. Her collection is a remarkable class between rounded silhouettes, offset by defined lines and sharp, angled seams. Using pale silver, navy, and black as her main colors, Kate depicted the urban femininity without the bright colors typically associated with it.
