Joy Cioci Spring 2012

Joy Cioci’s Spring 2012 collection was a one very colorful dream. This year’s inspiration “a free-spirited woman in pursuit of love” bounced delightfully on svelte figures of models on stage. The soft, pastel colors were alluring calls from the sun-soaked beach of an island off the coast of Mediterranean. All of the pieces retained their luxuriousness, yet effortlessly weaved in fine touches such as V-neck frills and translucent shirt sleeves. No details were overlooked in this collection, including the whimsical, slightly messy hair-do and stunning latticework featured on nails. The collection was a celebration of being a free woman, not afraid to show off her femininity and bold enough to embark on a new journey to find her true love.

Ruffian – Thoroughbred Spring 2012

The Ruffian collection at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion week. For Spring 2012, Ruffian explored their namesake, “Ruffian”, the filly racehorse and the society surrounding the racing world. The use of graphic inlays, colored silk, and couture details were abstracted from the jockey’s world, merging the masculine and feminine with sharp tailoring and a bright pallate. The inspirational muses were Charlotte Casiraghi and the Comtesse Jaqueline de Ribes. See images from the collection in the slideshow below
