Zang Toi’s Fall 2011 collection is a full blossom of his own artistic talents fused with the charisma exuding from the runway models. His show starts off with a pair of khaki pants and khaki top, cleverly meshed with a same-colored overcoat with a high impact fur around the neck. The model’s bronze shaded eyelids and eye-catching pinned up hairdo are chic. The immediate change of color scheme from placid khaki to black is an unexpected, but a delightful surprise. The black evening gowns highlighted with over-sized necklaces are mind-blowing. What impresses me in particular about Toi’s collection is the ease that he displays even with more mysterious colors like turquoise. As the dresses spread across the runway, a new fashion trend also spreads its wings.

Japanese Model Tao Okamoto reaches out with an appeal in regard to the recent Catastrophe that is still happening now.
“When the quake happened I was in Tokyo with my family. We are very used to having earthquakes but I never felt I could die from that.
…We turned on the TV and saw [a] much worse, horrible story. We couldn’t believe what was happening not so far from our city. 6900 people died and still missing [are] a million people. And then the nuclear power problem…we are still in fear…I want to tell Japan that a lot of people in the world are encouraging us and helping us. We are not alone. Malan Breton’s fall 2011 collection, entitled Kyoto Wonderland was shown at the Metropolitan Pavillion in New York. Blacks and vivid reds dominated the show, with shimmering fabrics that punctuated the Japanese-inspired fall line. View the entire collection in the gallery below:
