Herve Leger by Max Azria fall 2010

The Fall 2010 Herve Leger collection screamed strong feminine empowerment. This woman is a sexy super hero “confident to stand tall in the face of the future”. Much kudos to Max Azria and Lubov who once again remain true to the Leger bandage theme but still manage to reinvent it. This season the captivating second-skin dresses were laced up in an architectural bondage manner, grommeted down, and pieced together with knit and metallic mesh inserts that simulated armor. Also included this season were some form-fitting separates like streamlined pants, jackets, tops and skirts. There was definitely a sensuous yet sporty play on shape, lines, and texture. Some other details included exaggerated hips, asymmetrical necklines and whirling seams. The color palette consisted of black, white, steel grays and pale nudes offset with some pops of accent colors like pink and green. BCBG Max Azria Fall 2010

For Fall/Winter 2010, BCBGMAXAZRIA presented a sophisticated and feminine collection. Neutral tones were the dominating color in this season’s palette. Colorblocked with vibrant touches of yellow and blue, together with classic shades of black, grey and navy, they created clean geometric silhouettes. Leather piping and trimming details added to the geometric aesthetic. Prints were simple and graphic inspired in muted colors. Embellishments were also minimal. Some sequins and studs appeared to be painted on in brush strokes onto cropped tops and dresses. The main theme was the asymmetrical draping of flowing silk dresses and tops which were then layered and/or belted in almost every look. This collection is for a modern urban woman with a refined yet effortless style.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria’s Spring 2010 Collection

legerWhen 90’s pop band Right Said Fred sang “I’m too Sexy…” they probably weren’t talking about Hervé Léger by Max Azria’s Spring 2010 Collection, because there’s nothing that screams more seduction than body-con. The show was a glamazonian parade of tan, willowy beauties with free-flowing hair in, for the most part, Léger’s famous bandage, body-con dresses. Although Azria mixed it up a bit with looser styles in the form of circular mini-skirts and leave-nothing-to-the-imagination body suits, the bandage dress was the star of the show.

One look in particular shone mid-show displaying a twisted spider web of knit stretch held together by seams of raindrop splattered crystalline lines, body hugging and ergonomic seaming, Max you make us blush! Mostly cohesive, save for a couple numbers of multi washed and frayed denim body-con (what were you thinking Max?) that played Polly Anna with the audience rather than Polyamory. Still, the Léger Collection was a stunning show with muted but sky high heels that gave the models legs for months, and our bandage dress fix to look forward to while we all work our butts off at the gym til Spring.
